AI Try-On Feature - Face Data Collection

When you use our AI try-on feature, we collect and process facial landmark data from photos you choose to upload. This data is used solely to generate personalized clothing visualizations. Facial biometric data is processed in real-time through our secure AI partner and is not permanently stored. Your uploaded photos remain in your account until you delete them. We do not share your face data with third parties for advertising purposes. You maintain full control over your photos and can delete them at any time.

Specifically, we collect:

  • Facial landmarks and proportions to accurately position clothing items

  • Body measurements derived from photos for proper fit visualization

  • This data is only collected when you actively choose to use the try-on feature

  • Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including taps, scrolls, time spent on features

    • Generate realistic try-on visualizations showing how clothing items look on you

    • Properly fit and position clothing items in preview images

    • Improve the accuracy of AI-generated outfit previews

  • Product Discovery: We use your preferences to search and recommend second-hand fashion items from external platforms

  • Account Management: We use your contact information to manage your account and provide customer support

App Improvement

  • Analytics: We analyze usage patterns to improve app functionality and user experience

  • Performance Optimization: We use diagnostic data to fix bugs and improve app performance

  • AI Training: Your anonymized interactions help us improve our AI stylist's recommendations and responses

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Third-Party Services

AI Processing Partners: Face data is processed through our secure AI service provider's API for visualization generation only. The processing occurs over encrypted connections in compliance with privacy regulations. Our AI partner:

  • Does not retain facial biometric data after processing

  • Does not use face data for any purpose other than generating your try-on visualization

  • Does not share face data with any other third parties

Shopping Platforms: We connect to eBay, Shopify, and other platforms to discover products. We only share search queries and do not share your personal information with these platforms.

Service Providers: We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the app (hosting, analytics, customer support).

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Your face data is never sold or shared for advertising.

Data Retention

General Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or as required by law.

Photos and Biometric Data

  • Uploaded Photos: Photos you upload remain in your account until you choose to delete them. You can delete individual photos or all photos at any time through the app settings.

  • Facial Biometric Data: Facial landmark data is processed in real-time for visualization generation and is not permanently stored. Once a try-on visualization is generated, the biometric data is immediately discarded.

  • Try-On Results: Generated try-on images are saved to your account and can be deleted at any time.

Account Deletion

When you delete your account, all associated data including photos, try-on results, and personal information is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest

  • Secure API connections for face data processing

  • Regular security assessments

  • Limited access to personal information by authorized personnel only

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your biometric information.

European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability. Face data processing is based on your explicit consent.

Illinois Biometric Privacy Rights (BIPA)

For Illinois residents, we comply with the Biometric Information Privacy Act. We:

  • Do not sell or profit from biometric information

  • Permanently destroy biometric data within 3 years or when the purpose is satisfied, whichever comes first

Maude is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
